Day Seven

First Edit!

Original Photo

I'm so happy with how this photo turned out. I was hesitant to edit it since it is a nice picture as is, with such bright, bold colors. But I do love photoshopping flowers and found a cool tutorial to follow so I went for it.  :)

Day Six

This picture is for my brother Matt. I asked him to check out my blog and the first thing he says (after complementing the picture of course!) is, "Its not Sunday anymore!". So, to Matt, here is a picture that I'm sure will make you smile! And sorry for slacking on my blog...I was away from my computer for two days! :) haha

This is perhaps one of my favorite pictures ever. It may look simple...since it is just a cow...standing in a field, but the story behind it is what makes it awesome! When Matt's fiancee, Jackie, moved to Texas, Matt and I went on a photo adventure to capture some of Colorado's beauty to send to her so she didn't forget home! We had an epic time, as we always do on random sibling adventures. So as we were driving down the highway, I looked out the window and saw this lovely cow. "Oh look!! A cow!" I grabbed my camera, took off the lens cap, pointed it out the window, and shot. Didn't even take the time to look through the view finder and focus it! Considering that, I think this is quite a fantastic photo of a cow. I love the movement that is created by the blurred field, and then the stillness of the cow! Anyways, thats the story behind this picture. Hope it makes you smile like it did Matt and me.
Miss and love ya bro!!!

Day Five

Wishing I was here right now!!

This was taken in Cabo San Lucas. My friend Lexi invited me to join her and her family for a week in Cabo after our high school graduation! We had such an amazing time. Can't wait to make it back some day! Unfortunately, I didn't have my SLR at the time so the quality isn't 100%, but I still think its lovely. Its the ocean...and the sun! How could it not be lovely?

Day Four

Haha!! What is there to say about this?! This is Shotzee, my adorable beagle. She is such a riot...when we have a lot of snow, she tiptoes down the deck stairs as if she'll freeze if she gets too much on her paws.

Of course once she reaches the yard she realizes how much fun it is to play in the snow and runs and runs until her big old ears are just about frozen! She makes me so happy!

Day Three

Oh Red Rocks, you bring me so much joy!! From the countless nights I spent as a high schooler sneaking in after hours with my friends to look at the stars and the beautiful city lights out East, to some of the most amazing concerts I've ever seen, and of course the times I went alone in my topless jeep to think and clear my mind and just be! (Until I'd hear a noise off in the bushes and get scared and have to leave...ha!) Its beauty is truly breathtaking.

I love this photo for many reasons. Of course the colors and the lines and layers and all of that "photography" stuff, but also because it allows us to see Red Rocks in a different way. Not as an amphitheater packed with people, but as nature
:)

Day Two

I had a difficult time choosing a photo for today. I've been sick for the past two days and as I looked through all of my pictures, none of them seemed to fit my mood.  Flowers=too bright and happy. My dogs=too energetic. People=too personal.

Finally, I came across this picture. For whatever reason, it jumped out at me and seemed perfect for today. It is so beautiful, yet so simple...not filled with tons of colors, not too busy, just very serene. Plus, it brings back wonderful memories for me! I took this picture on the very first mini vacation Nate, my super amazing boyfriend, and I took.  It is Spouting Rock, which is just above Hanging Lake in the Glenwood Canyon. I thought it would be a wonderful weekend date...a nice hike up to some of the most beautiful scenery I have ever seen and then a few days of relaxing in the hot springs. Well, the "hike" turned out to be more of a climb! (We were getting passed by people well over 50 years old! ha!) So I ended up dragging poor Nate to the top of the mountain on his day off. And did he complain?! Not near as much as I did! Ha! I should mention this was only a few weeks after we started dating.  Regardless, we had a really great time! I got some amazing pictures and we had a nice few days laughing and enjoying each others company!

Oh my, I've ended up rambling more about Nate than the picture itself...and of course, it made me feel a little better! :)

Day One

My best friend, Jihee, convinced me to start a photoblog and I have finally done so! My goal is to share a photo daily, whether it's one of my more artistic photographs, a silly snapshot, or even a photo that I've done some editing on.  I'm really excited about this and hope everyone enjoys!

Since Jihee inspired me to begin this blog, I thought it would be appropriate for my first photo to be from our amazing adventure to Baltimore/DC! This view is from the elevator in our hotel. On the left side, you can see Baltimore's Inner Harbor...the tall building is the Baltimore World Trade Center.  As a photographer, I LOVE reflections (as you will soon learn I'm sure) so I was very excited that our hotel had such great reflective windows! I also love the depth that is created by the lines. This is definitely one of those views that people often glance at, but never really look at....if that makes sense! :)
