Day Thirty Three

I had a wonderful time celebrating my birthday with my amazing family!!

We went to dinner at the Yard House (so yummy!) and then went back to my parents house for cake, ice cream and presents!

It was such a good evening!

Day Thirty Two

So I had a very wonderful Birthday yesterday! Spent the day at home cleaning...haha 

But then my brother and his fiancee met me at Old Chicago's for dinner and some drinks. It was great hanging out with them! Next my best friend Jihee came over! She made me the most awesome gift ever (see below!). We hung out and waited for Nate to get off work...then all of a sudden he comes rushing into the apartment telling us to hurry and go with him, that there was something we had to see. So we went out to the community balcony where I discovered a dozen roses, a card, and some cupcakes with candles in them. It was absolutely perfect!! We ate some cupcakes then went to South Broadway for some music and drinks. Great night!

P.S. Nate also got me a new flash for my camera!!! Woohoo! I am so obsessed with it! All I want to do is take pictures...even more than I did before

Day Thirty One

Ventured back to Golden today to check out the fire (after a fun day of shopping with my momma and grandma!). Pretty crazy! All of the people fighting this fire are definitely in my thoughts and prayers. They are dealing with some horrible conditions as far as the rough terrain and ridiculous winds.

Day Twenty Three

I absolutely loved touring all of the museums in Washington, DC.  If I had to choose a favorite, I think it would be the Newseum, probably because there was so much photography featured in it!  I loved seeing so much history and emotion captured on film.  Plus, all of the actual pieces of history that were displayed (see below :)! ) I could go on and on about how cool this place is, but it just wouldn't do it justice. Go see for yourself someday!

Close up of the antenna mast from the North Tower of the World Trade Center.  The 9/11 Gallery was definitely one of the more emotional exhibits. They had an entire wall of front pages of newspapers from across the world with 9/11 headlines. Unfortunately I didn't get a great picture but it was pretty incredible to see.

Day Twenty Two

I guess Mikey was trying to get Nate intoxicated since we ordered the same drink and his is considerably darker than mine! Haha

...but at least I got a cherry!

Turns out bubbles look awesome at a long exposure! 

Don't make fun of us because we are fascinated with our balcony on the 8th floor and bought bubbles to blow off of it.
